VVIVIDWALL

VividWall

Privacy Policy

The short version

VividWall does not require an account to browse or download. We collect only what is needed to run the site: basic server logs, a download counter that uses a hashed address, and the details you choose to send us through the submission or contact forms. Third parties, including Google, may set cookies for fonts and advertising, as described below.

Information we collect

  • Server logs. Like most websites, the servers that host VividWall record technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site working.
  • Page views. Each wallpaper page keeps a simple view counter. The counter does not store who viewed it.
  • Downloads. When you download a wallpaper we store the wallpaper ID, the time, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is used to avoid counting repeated downloads of the same wallpaper from the same address within an hour. We do not store your plain IP address in the download record.
  • Member accounts. If you create an account, we store your email address and a one-way password hash. We never store your plain-text password. We email you a link to confirm your address and, when you ask for one, a single-use link to reset your password; only a one-way hash of each link is stored, and it expires after 48 hours (confirmation) or 1 hour (reset). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your verified email address and an account identifier from that provider and store them to link the sign-in to your VividWall account. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
  • Wallpaper submissions. If you submit a wallpaper, we store the image, the details you enter, the email address linked to your member account, and your confirmation that you have the right to share the work. Your email address is used to handle the submission and account history and is not shown on the site.
  • Contact messages. If you use the contact form, we store your name, email address and message, together with a hashed IP address that is used to limit abuse.

Cookies

VividWall sets a session cookie so that forms can be protected against cross-site request forgery and so that signed-in members and the private admin area can be recognised securely. It is not used for advertising or tracking. Third-party services described below may set their own cookies.

Google Fonts

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore connects to Google's servers to fetch them, which can reveal your IP address and browser details to Google. See Google's privacy policy for how that data is handled.

Spam protection and sign-in providers

Sign-in, registration and submission forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated abuse. Turnstile loads from Cloudflare's servers and processes technical signals from your browser for that check. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, you are sent to that provider's sign-in page, and its own privacy policy applies there: Google, Apple.

Advertising

VividWall may show advertisements served by Google AdSense or other advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's earlier visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to VividWall and other sites on the internet.

For visitors in Türkiye, advertising scripts load only after you accept the cookie notice. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage and can be changed at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the page footer.

You can manage personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and you can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services on this Google page. Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, our advertising partners may ask for it through a consent message.

Why we use information

We use the information above to operate the site, keep it secure, review submissions, answer messages, count popularity fairly, and show advertising that helps fund the site. We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept according to our hosting provider's settings. Contact messages and submission details are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a record of the review. Download records are kept so that popularity counts remain accurate. You can ask us to delete your contact messages or submission details, as described below. Member accounts are kept until you delete them: use "Delete my account" on the account page. Deleting an account removes your email address, sign-in methods and password; published wallpapers stay on the site without your email address, and submissions still waiting for review are withdrawn.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details on the contact page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, although forms may not.

Children

VividWall is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the bottom. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
